First-year journalists Sofia Illichova and Alina Makarova won 3rd place at the International Student Professional Creative Competition “Publishing Journalism.” Their book trailer for Fredrik Backman’s book “Paths of Life” became one of the best.
The girls chose the book for the book trailer not by chance.
“This is a collection of two stories. “And Every Morning the Road Home Gets Longer and Longer” is a story about how the most brilliant people can lose their memory but maintain warmth in their relationships with their loved ones. And “The Affairs of Your Life” is a story about how one acquaintance can make you rethink your mistakes and make a cardinal decision that will change someone’s life. We chose this book because Fredrik Backman has his own unique style and his stories are interesting to analyze and comprehend,” says Sofia Illichova.
The students received high scores and first professional awards for their video work. Their supervisor, the head of the journalism department, Iryna Kopystynska, was also awarded a certificate of appreciation.
The international student professional creative competition “Publishing Journalism” is held annually at the Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi Kremenchuk National University as part of the development of the Innovative Hub for higher education students and young scientists.
The competition aims to popularize books and reading through social media, creating conditions for the formation of the intellectual potential of talented youth.
According to the organizers, this year the competition received 28 creative works from 28 authors from 11 higher education institutions, including Ukraine (9) and the world (3).
Foreign participants include representatives of educational institutions from Georgia, Turkey, and Latvia.
